Our Mission

Adharshila works to build foundations for strong and self-reliant communities at the grassroots level with dedication and sincerity. We strive to empower and enable society’s weaker sections through our programs that teach them to be self-reliant. At Adharshila we work to make a difference.

Adharshila (Adhar: foundation, shila: stone) is a young NGO, based in Kalkaji, Tigri, and Harkesh Nagar Okhla in New Delhi, India whose mission is to build foundations at the grassroots level with dedication and sincerity.

Adharshila’s founders, Ms. Neena Jolly and Ms. Geeta Arora started the NGO in October 2004 with the aim of ensuring sustainable slum development.

The NGO works for the upliftment of the underprivileged section of society by striving to empower and enable them, especially women, through our skill development certificate programs, education programs, and women's healthcare clinics.

Adharshila’s strength lies in building partnerships with fellow NGO’s, Corporates, Government Organizations, Civil Society and National and Inter-national Organizations.

It is registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882 with special tax exemptions under section 80 G of the Income Tax Act 1961 and under Foreign Currency Registration Act.

Dear friends,

As a young organization, Adharshila is shouldering the responsibility of building foundations for people of all age groups from the unreached community who need it the most.

The last fourteen years have given us the opportunity to work with more than 125,000 beneficiaries from different migrant communities across India, who we have supported in their various pursuits. We started healthcare centers with the aim of reducing child and maternal mortality, improving fetal health, reducing anemia and improving bone density to reduce the incidence of osteoporosis, but we want to expand our vision to now include physiotherapy. This year, one of our goals is to introduce physiotherapy into our healthcare clinics. We also provide remedial education and skill development courses and our second goal for this year is to enhance employability among these students so they can find a job that enables them to fulfill their full potential.

                                                        The Adharshila team

                                                        The Adharshila team

It is the quest for high quality that has got us this far. We strive to shape better communities. Each member of our team is a link in the chain and our aim is to work well together to achieve our goals.

We are grateful to our partners for believing in us and sharing our vision.

Thank you for your continued support!
